Baby's First Christmas

You have to hold him up to see

The angel on the Christmas tree.

And even though he's still too small

To know the meanin of it all

You watch his eyes reflect the glow

Of colored lights that come and go

And feel him quiver with delight

At every new and wonderous sight.

There's Santa with his jolly face

Beaming from the fireplace.

And from the stocking hanging there

Peeks a cuddly teddy bear.

Bright ornaments and candy canes--

Musical toys and wooden trains--

There's just no end to the delights

Spread out for him this night of nights!

He points and grins from ear to ear

And then he yawns - his bedtimes near!

Dad gives him a kiss and you tuck him away

To rest up for the fun of his first Christmas Day!

Ryker Preston Payne

Hey Everyone!
I can't believe it took me this long to get on here and tell you all about my beautiful baby boy!!! Ryker Preston Payne was born on September 12, 2008 at 12:40 PM. He was 8 lbs, 1 oz and 21 inches long. He has a little bit of hair and is such a beautiful baby!!

Ironically enough, after I wrote my last post about being induced on September 15th I stood up and my water started leaking. After about an hour I woke my mom up and told her that I thought she was going to have to take me to the hospital. We went to Ogden Regional Medical Center where they ran some tests and after about 3 hours they finally admitted me. I called Rick who gathered all of our stuff and came up to the hospital. I held out on an epidural until about 4:30 in the morning when I just couldn't take the contractions anymore. After that labor was a breeze! Finally after about 21 hours of labor I was dilated to a ten and ready to push at 11 AM. Both Grandma Debby and Grandma Allison were in the room but I don't know what I would have done without Rick by my side! Ryker was born at 12:40.

Amazingly enough he was wide awake and stayed that way for a couple hours after as people were coming to visit. He just wanted to look around at everyone and was so good! He didn't cry at all!

He is now 6 weeks old and I couldn't be more in love!!! He is almost sleeping through the night, he doesn't cry unless he's taking a bath and loves to be around people! I promise I will get pictures up ASAP! (They are all on my Mom's computer)

IT'S TIME!!!

Hey Everyone -

Just to give a quick update - Rick and I are finally moved into our new apartment and so much has changed! Rick got the job at Hill Air Force Base as a HVAC Mechanic. He started September 2nd and is now getting ready to go back to school as well. I guess for the next year or so I'll be feeling a lot like a single Mom! Oh well - it'll be worth it to have my husband happy at his job!

Today is Thursday, Sept 11 and the real count down is on! I am going to be induced on Monday the 15th. This baby is getting pretty big and my Dr. is worried about my swelling. We are so excited and can't wait to have him here. I can't wait to see who he looks like and who's temperament he has! (knock on wood - mine! LOL!)

Hope you are all well and I will be on next week with some pictures of Ryker!

Love Tabby

Update

Hey Everyone!
Sorry I don't get on here as often as I would like! I wanted to give everyone a quick update. Baby Ryker is growing fast, he likes to kick and move around a lot and make sure Mom doesn't get any sleep! Just 2 1/2 months and I'll finally get to see my little guy! In some ways time has flown by and in other ways it just isn't going fast enough! The 3rd trimester is definitely the hardest!

The beginning of April I started a new job at Flying J Corporate office. I am doing inside sales for a load board (ask a trucker, they'll know what that is!) designed by Flying J. Basically I'm on the phone all day trying help truckers make more money. My boss is great and is trying to get it approved for me to work from home for the first 4 months after Ryker is born - please keep your fingers crossed, this would obviously be a huge blessing!

Rick is still trying to get on at Hill Air Force Base as a civilian worker, but has also put in for some higher positions at work. We are praying something comes through quickly! Again, keep your fingers crossed!

Other then that we are just looking for a house but decided if we haven't found one by July 15th we will start looking for a rental so that we can get set up before Ryker gets here.

I hope all is well with everyone and would love to hear from all of you! I'll post pictures of the belly soon!

It's a .....

BOY!!!! Don't worry, I made the Dr. check 3 times and it's pretty clear! Rick couldn't get the smile off of his face and he can't stop rubbing the belly now! I'm officially over half way and a name has been picked: Ryker Preston Payne. Both of us really liked the name Ryker and Preston is Rick's middle name as well so they will have the same initials.

Oh yeah - we are registered at Babies R Us and you can check out the registry on line! Love Tabby and Rick!
